  1. A man walks into a bar. The foggy door swings with a loud creak, letting a blast of warm air blast him in the face. The man looks to his left and right, sizing up the meager assembling of patrons. No one has noticed his entrance. Good. He plops onto an isolated stool at the end of the bar. The bartender gives him a nod and a wan smile. “What can I get for you?” she asks as she walks over. The man stiffens up. He hopes she doesn’t get close enough to smell that he hasn’t showered in several days.
